Pelican's Snoballs
Fall Flavors Ad
We wanted to use a lot of close up shots to showcase the snoballs. Also, in order to show the family-friendly atmosphere, there are shots of kids playing and having fun.
We mimicked the fall season by color grading the shots to have more of a warmer tone and feel.

The first thing I had to consider when creating this graphic was the style and feel my team and I were going for. We agreed to take inspiration from the official logo of the company, which was a cartoon drawing of a pelican. The image and a lot of the words used to promote the company was surrounded by a white border, so we decided to do the same. When creating the logos for the Pelican's Snowballs flavors we as a group know that we wanted to create it too look like a sticker and have the same tone in color as well as font type that Pelican's already had. I kept the pumpkin simple and fun to keep the mood that Pelican's gave. I created the pumpkin first by making multiple shapes in illustrator and combining them as a group. We made sure the letters were also outlined so that they popped more. All of the pumpkin is also outlines with white to give it a pop.

I wanted to create a simple icon to coincide with the lighter theme of the commercial. When designing the cookie, I used references to get the shape more natural rather than a perfect circle and I used a brown color pallet to create variation in the colors on the cookie. By using lighter and darker shades of brown, I wanted to embody the cinnamon and warmth of a snicker doodle. Then we collectively chose a font for the design and tweaked it to be more fluid, since we wanted to have more character in the text than just a plain word. After we created the text and the icon, we positioned and sized each to look even and pleasing for the commercial.
